Welcome to Lux Dental, your trusted destination for exceptional dental care in Michigan. If you’re seeking a reliable and aesthetically pleasing solution to tooth decay, we offer composite fillings, also known as tooth-colored fillings. Our experienced team of dentists specializes in providing high-quality composite fillings that blend seamlessly with your natural teeth, ensuring both oral health and a beautiful smile.
Composite fillings are made of a durable resin material that is carefully color-matched to your tooth, resulting in a restoration that is virtually indistinguishable from your natural teeth. These fillings are an excellent alternative to traditional amalgam (silver) fillings, providing a more discreet and natural-looking result. At Lux Dental, we prioritize both the function and aesthetics of your smile, and composite fillings allow us to achieve that balance.
When you visit Lux Dental for a composite filling, our skilled team will begin by removing the decayed portion of your tooth. We will then thoroughly clean the area and apply the composite resin in layers. Each layer is carefully shaped and hardened using a special curing light. This process ensures that the filling is strong, durable, and provides an excellent seal to prevent further decay.
One of the significant advantages of composite fillings is that they require less removal of your natural tooth structure compared to amalgam fillings. This means that more of your healthy tooth structure can be preserved, resulting in a stronger and healthier tooth overall. Additionally, composite fillings bond directly to your tooth, providing added support and minimizing the risk of future fractures.
At Lux Dental, we understand that your comfort is paramount during any dental procedure. Our compassionate team will take the time to ensure that you are relaxed and at ease throughout your composite filling treatment. We use gentle techniques and modern anesthesia options to minimize discomfort, and we will communicate with you every step of the way, ensuring that you feel informed and empowered to make decisions about your oral health.
After your composite filling is placed, our dentists will check your bite and make any necessary adjustments to ensure proper alignment. You can expect your tooth to function and feel natural, and with proper oral hygiene practices, your composite filling can last for many years, protecting your tooth and restoring its appearance.
If you have existing amalgam fillings and would like to replace them with composite fillings for a more seamless and natural look, we offer safe and effective amalgam removal. Our dentists are experienced in the removal process, taking precautions to minimize your exposure to mercury vapor and ensuring a comfortable and stress-free experience.
